In recent years, artificial intelligence has developed rapidly and left a profound impact on people's lives. This should be leveraged across industries, including the transportation industry through innovative thinking and creative ideas, laying a solid foundation for the application of artificial intelligence in the field of transportation.

On May 9, Kwangmyong and Scienjoy held a series of live broadcasts themed "Hello, New Era". The live broadcast was guided by the Mobile Network Administration of the CPC Central Committee and assisted by the Chinese Association of Artificial Intelligence. It was aimed to provide a better understanding of "intelligent traffic of science and technology" and "the research and application of artificial intelligence in intelligent traffic", hosted at the Beijing Jiaotong University.

The live broadcast invited professor Lin Youfang, the Deputy Dean of the School of Computer and Information Technology.  Professor Lin introduced the research progress and application of artificial intelligence along with big data in the construction of intelligent transportation. This encouraged them to explore the mystery of intelligent transportation technology further.

In the live broadcast, professor Lin started by explaining the principle of GPS apps such as Baidu Map and Aude Map - both of which are intelligent traffic maps. In the large-screen display, he showed the traffic situation in Shenyang city and showed the importance of choosing an appropriate route based on the road condition. The road condition requires enough information through the movement of mobile phone users in the traffic area. A series of scientific and technological advantages such as traffic flow prediction and simulation based on big data was then further illustrated in live.

Lin also made a notable mention of the Humen Bridge in Guangdong province, stating that it connects too many areas and is overloaded. The local government hopes to ease the traffic and attempts to transfer 30 percent of capacity of Humen bridge to Humen Bridge II. A team led by Professor Lin; based on the simulation by the traffic data in the history of Humen Bridge, took efforts to design the operation and management system of Humen Bridge II. The bridge was later renamed as Nansha Bridge, of which toll fee was predicted to be CNY 42.

At the end, there was no significant difference between the predicted simulation results and the actual operation data. This confirms the high accuracy and advantages of artificial intelligence simulation. Professor Lin was told the story with pride and passion, which greatly affected the viewers. The viewers were very engaged as they sent thumbs up, gifts, and praises to the wonderful power of science.

Doctor Guo Shengnan and Lin Yan attracted many students viewers as they introduced their research and the current employment situation in Beijing Jiaotong University. They sincerely and warmly hoped that more students would be interested in intelligent transportation and willing to apply for the Beijing Jiaotong University.

Lin Yan, a doctoral candidate, said that he began to participate in project research at the very beginning of his college life. When the host asked why he chose to study at Beijing Jiaotong University instead of going abroad, he argued that it is because China has a better research environment. Chinese research in the field of artificial intelligence has reached an advanced level, and domestic demand offers a more complex scenario. Studying at home therefore enables him to get more breakthrough opportunities.

At the end of the livestream, professor Yu Jian, the executive Vice President of the Institute of Artificial Intelligence in Beijing Jiaotong University, the Deputy Director and the Secretary-general of the member of artificial intelligence and pattern recognition of China Computer Federation, sent his book titled "Machine Learning" and added his signature to it. He then gave it to viewers and sincerely hoped everyone has a better understanding of artificial intelligence. It is firmly believed that more artificial intelligence development in the field of transportation will improve the convenience of our daily travel. We will then also feel more proud of such development taking place in our country.
